Accounting software change
The client needs to move from one accounting system to another without disrupting day to day business or losing data.
Sirius perform a data migration between a multitude of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Kashflow, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP and SAP. The main aim with data migration is ensuring the entire history is included and a map from one system to another is created before the task is undertaken. The customers, suppliers, nominal and product records are transferred to Excel and the transformations necessary for the new system to receive the data is performed.
Sirius look at the history of transactions that need to be brought into the new system and establish the best way to transfer the optimal amount of data whilst providing full traceability within the new system. A test environment is created so users can trial the system before it goes live. The work is carried out on the data offline, so there is minimal disruption to the client during the data migration process. Training, support and report writing in the new system is given so that users can get up and running quickly.
Manufacturing MRP software change
Moving from one specialised manufacturing program to another is a complicated task. The program houses vital information about the manufacturing of the products and the data integrity needs to be maintained during the move to ensure critical data is not lost.
Sirius recently migrated data between Prodman and Redthorn MRP systems. Taking the time to understand the data in the old system and the data structure in the new system is vital to ensure the migration is successful. The data is extracted from the relevant tables via SQL or Crystal. It is then transformed into the correct format for the new system to receive it using Excel.
The import process is managed and testing the data with the users in the new system is carried out. The data is worked on offline so there is minimal disruption to the client during the migration process. Training, support and report writing in the new system is given so that users can get up and running quickly.
